51. Appeal
(1) (a) Where a person is aggrieved by—
(i) the refusal of the licensing officer to grant or renew a driving licence; or
(ii) the revocation of a driving licence under section 50,
he may, within 8 days of the notification to him of the decision of the licensing officer, cause a summons to be served upon the licensing officer calling
upon him to show cause before the Magistrate of the District Court of Port
Louis (First Division) why his decision should not be reversed, modified or
suspended.
(b) The Magistrate may hear and determine the case as though it
were a civil matter.
(2) Where an appeal is made under subsection (1), the decision of the
Magistrate shall be final.
