Section 67: Cancellation of policy

67. Cancellation of policy (1) Where a certificate of insurance has been issued, under section 57 (3), to the person by whom a policy has been effected and the policy is cancelled by mutual consent or by virtue of a provision in the policy, the person to whom the certificate was issued shall, within 7 days from the taking effect of the cancellation— (a) surrender the certificate to the insurer; or (b) where the certificate has been lost or destroyed, make a declaration to that effect. (2) Any person who fails to comply with subsection (1) shall commit an offence.
