Section 74: Meetings of Authority

74. Meetings of Authority (1) The Authority shall meet at least twice a month for the performance of its duties. (2) In the absence of the Chairperson, the members shall elect a Chairperson from among themselves. (3) The meetings of the Authority shall be convened by the Chairperson or, in his absence, by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry responsible for the subject of land transport. (4) No member shall take part in any proceedings at a meeting of the Authority if, in the opinion of the Chairperson, he has a personal or direct interest in any matter referred to that meeting of the Authority. (5) Everything authorised or required to be done by the Authority shall be decided by a simple majority of the members present and voting. (6) At any meeting of the Authority, each member shall have one vote on the matter in question and, in the event of an equality of votes, the Chairperson of the meeting shall have a casting vote. (7) At any meeting of the Authority, the Chairperson and 3 members shall form a quorum. (8) Subject to this section, the Authority shall regulate its meetings and proceedings in such manner as it thinks fit.
