76. Prohibition of use of unlicensed public service vehicles
(1) No person shall use a motor vehicle, or cause or permit
a motor vehicle to be used as a public service vehicle unless
there is in force, in respect of that vehicle, a licence issued under this Part authorising the use of the vehicle as such.
(2) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine of not
less than 3,000 rupees nor more than 10,000 rupees or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months.
(3) A public service vehicle licence shall be in addition to
any other licence issued under this Act.
