4. Director of Statistics
(1) There shall be a chief executive officer of Statistics Mauritius who
shall be known as the Director of Statistics.
(2) The Director shall be responsible for the administration and control of
Statistics Mauritius.
(3) In the discharge of his functions and the exercise of his powers under
this Act, the Director shall act without fear or favour and shall not be subject
to the direction or control of any other person or authority other than, in
matters of discipline, the Public Service Commission.
