30. Advances to an insured
(1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3), the Board may make advances to
an insured eligible to compensation under section 26 on such conditions as
the Board may determine.
(2) The advances made under subsection (1) shall in the aggregate not
exceed 80 per cent of the loss suffered or likely to be suffered by the insured.
(3) The Board may, for the purposes of subsection (1), and without prejudice to any assessment which is required to be made under this Act for the
payment of compensation, assess the loss suffered by an insured in such
manner as it thinks fit.
