Section 2: Interpretation

2. Interpretation In this Act— “Minister” means the Minister to whom responsibility for the subject of energy is assigned; “period of summertime” means— (a) the period specified in regulations made under section 4 (b); or (b) where no period has been specified in regulations made under section 4 (b), the period— (i) beginning at 2 o’clock standard time in the morning of the last Sunday of October in any year; and (ii) ending at 2 o’clock standard time in the morning of the last Sunday of March in the following year; “standard time” has the same meaning as in the Interpretation and General Clauses Act; “summertime” means— (a) the time specified in regulations made under section 4 (a); or (b) where no time has been specified in regulations made under section 4 (a), one hour ahead of the standard time.
