47. Certificate of convicted producer (1) Where a producer is convicted of an offence, the Board may by resolution cancel or withhold a certificate issued or transferred to him and erase his name from the register of producers, and his basic quota and basic acreage may be allotted to some other person. (2) (a) Where a certificate is cancelled under this section the producer shall deliver all green tobacco and leaf tobacco in his possession to the Board within 14 days of the cancellation, failing which he shall commit an offence. (b) Any green tobacco or leaf tobacco delivered to the Board under paragraph (a) shall become the property of the Board. T10 – 19 [Issue 1] Tobacco Production and Marketing Act (c) Nothing in this section shall affect the power of the Court to order the forfeiture of any green tobacco or leaf tobacco under this Act.
