3. Constitution of University
(1) The University of Mauritius shall be a body corporate.
(2) Membership of the University shall be prescribed by the Statutes.
(3) Subject to the University of Technology, Mauritius Act and the
Université des Mascareignes Act, no person, without the authority of the
University, may use the name of the University and any person who contravenes this subsection shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be
liable to a fine not exceeding 1,000 rupees.
