Section 34: Jurisdiction of Magistrate

34. Jurisdiction of Magistrate (1) Unless otherwise expressly provided in this Act, the Magistrate shall, in connection with any question to be determined under this Act, have all the powers and jurisdiction exercisable, and be subject to all the duties and obligations to be performed, by a Magistrate’s Court of the district in or in connection with civil actions in that Court, and the law, rules and practice in civil actions shall apply with any necessary modification. W9 – 19 [Issue 1] Workmen’s Compensation Act (2) An order made by a Magistrate under this Act may be enforced as if it were a judgment or order of the Magistrate’s Court of the district.
