39. Notice to comply
(1) Where an authorised officer is not satisfied with the condition in
which a dog is kept, he shall —
(a) issue a notice of non-compliance, specifying the shortcoming
and the time frame for compliance;
(b) impound the dog at the owner’s cost until the owner complies
with the notice.
(2) Where the owner fails to comply with the notice, he shall commit an
offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 10,000
rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months.
