13. Governor (1) The Governor shall be appointed by the President, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister. (2) No person shall be appointed as Governor unless the person— (a) is a citizen of Mauritius; (b) holds a professional qualification or university degree; and (c) has recognised experience in banking or financial matters. (3) The Governor shall be the principal representative of the Bank and shall be responsible for the execution of the policy of the Board and the general supervision of the Bank. (4) The Governor shall, in the discharge of his functions under this Act, be answerable to the Board.
