14. Deputy Governors (1) The Deputy Governors shall be appointed by the President, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister. (2) No person shall be appointed as Deputy Governor unless the person— (a) is a citizen of Mauritius; (b) holds a professional qualification or university degree; and (c) has recognised experience in banking or financial matters. (3) The Deputy Governors shall, under the general supervision of the Governor, be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Bank. (4) In the absence of the Governor, the First Deputy Governor shall act as Governor and, in the absence of the Governor and the First Deputy Governor, the Second Deputy Governor shall act as Governor.
