36. Printing of bank notes and minting of coins (1) (a) Currency notes issued under this Act shall be— (i) of such denomination and of such form, design, and content; (ii) printed from such plates and on such paper or material; and (iii) authenticated in such manner, as the Bank may, with the concurrence of the Minister, determine. (b) Coins issued under this Act shall be of such denominations, of such weight, form and design and made of such metal as the Bank may, with the concurrence of the Minister, determine. [Issue 9] B2 – 18 Revised Laws of Mauritius (2) The Bank shall— (a) arrange for the printing of currency notes and the minting of coins and for all matters relating thereto; (b) issue and reissue currency notes and coins; (c) arrange for the security and safe keeping of unissued stocks of currency notes and coins and for the preparation, safe custody and destruction of any paper, material, plate, block, die or other instrument used for the printing of currency notes and for the minting of coins.
