9. Prohibition against private trading by brokers (1) No broker shall, on his own account, carry on any trade in goods or merchandise. (2) No broker shall lend his name to any person not appointed a broker for purposes of a business transaction. (3) Any broker contravening this section shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 500 rupees and to the forfeiture of his commission of appointment.
