Section 24: Sale of materials

24. Sale of materials (1) Where a building is pulled down pursuant to a notice served under section 22, the local authority may— (a) sell, by public auction, the materials of the pulled down building; and (b) apply the proceeds of the sale in payment of the expenses incurred in respect of the building. continued on page B13A (cid:177)(cid:3)(cid:20)(cid:24)(cid:3) [Issue 10] B13A – 12 Revised Laws of Mauritius (2) The local authority shall, on demand, give any surplus arising from the sale to the owner of the building. (3) The owner shall remain liable for the payment of the expenses that may remain due after the application of the proceeds of the sale.
