Section 30: Chimneys

30. Chimneys (1) Where exhaust fumes are being produced from an industrial building or where a forge, fireplace, oven or furnace is established in the industrial building, the local authority may issue a notice requiring the owner of the industrial building to erect in connection with the building, and within the time specified in the notice, a proper chimney to be designed in such manner as may be prescribed. (2) Where the owner of an industrial building fails to comply with a notice under subsection (1), the local authority may, at the expiration of the time specified in the notice, order the use of the industrial building to be discontinued.
