Section 6: Registration of judicial orders

6. Registration of judicial orders (1) Where a Court or a Judge in Chambers makes an order relating to civil status, the clerk of the Registry shall, not later than 7 days from the making of the order, transmit to the Registrar of Civil Status a copy of the order for registration. (2) On receipt of a copy of an order under subsection (1), the Registrar of Civil Status shall cause— (a) the copy of the order to be registered in the appropriate register; [Issue 1] C24 – 6 Revised Laws of Mauritius (b) where the order amends an entry in any other register, the effect of the amendment to be annotated in that entry.
