Section 37: Making false declaration

37. Making false declaration Any person who for the purposes of obtaining for himself or for any person the issue, grant or renewal under this Act of a permit, licence, certificate or authorisation or for any other purpose relevant to this Act— (a) knowingly or recklessly makes a declaration or statement which is false or misleading in any material particular; or D2 – 21 [Issue 3] Dangerous Drugs Act (b) knowingly utters, produces or makes use of any such declaration or statement or any document containing the same, shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 100,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years.
