53. Legal professional privilege
Personal data shall be exempt from—
(a) the Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Data Protection Principles;
and
(b) section 23,
where the data consist of information in respect of which a claim to legal
professional privilege or confidentiality as between client and law practitioner
could be maintained in legal proceedings, including prospective legal proceedings.
