7. Grant of application
(1) A Judge may grant an application made under section 6 and make an
order authorising the taking of a DNA sample from a specified person
where—
(a) the taking of the DNA sample is justified in all the circumstances
of the case; and
(b) it appears that the person against whom the application is made
may be connected to or associated with the offence; and
(c) it is in the interest of justice to do so.
(2) An order made under subsection (1) shall be valid for a period of 14
days, and the Judge may extend the period of validity of the order, for such
period not exceeding 28 days as he thinks fit.
