Section 19: Payment and suspension of service

19. Payment and suspension of service (1) A licensee shall be responsible for collecting payments from a customer in accordance with the metering, billing and collection procedures as the Authority. (2) A licensee may suspend or disconnect the supply of electricity to a customer where— (a) the customer fails to pay any outstanding fee or charge for the service within such delay as may be prescribed; (b) the customer has obtained the supply of electricity by misrepresentation or fraudulent means; or (c) the service is likely to endanger the safety of persons or property. (3) Subject to section 43, where the cause for suspension or disconnection has ceased to exist, the licensee shall restore the service within a reasonable time after payment of such charges as may be prescribed.
