Section 70: Arbitration

70. Arbitration (1) Where a labour dispute is referred to the Tribunal under section 63 or 69 (7), the Tribunal shall enquire into the dispute and make an award thereon within 90 days of the referral. (2) Where the circumstances so require, the Tribunal may, with the consent of the parties to the dispute, extend the period specified in subsection (1). [Issue 9] E9A – 40 (cid:3) Revised Laws of Mauritius (cid:3) (3) Subject to section 65 and notwithstanding section 69 (1), where a labour dispute relating to the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service, the Mauritius Prisons Service and the Police Force is reported to the President of the Commission, the President shall forthwith refer the dispute to the Tribunal and the Tribunal shall, within 30 days of the referral, enquire into the dispute and make an award thereon.
