Section 8: Grant of licence or employee permit

8. Grant of licence or employee permit (1) Subject to section 9, the Commissioner may grant an application made under section 7 where he is satisfied that the applicant— (a) has a good reason for purchasing, acquiring or having in his possession the firearm or ammunition in respect of which the application is made; and (b) can be allowed to have in his possession that firearm and ammunition without danger to the public safety or to the public order. (2) Where an application has been granted under subsection (1), the Commissioner shall issue a firearm licence or employee permit, upon payment by the applicant of the fee specified in the Second Schedule.
