27. Offences and penalties
(1) Any person who contravenes this Act or any regulations made under
it shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 100,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding
3 years.
(2) Any person who, for the purposes of this Act, gives any information,
particulars or documents or makes any statement which is false or misleading in any material particular shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 500,000 rupees and to imprisonment
for a term not exceeding 5 years.
