8. Other powers of Registrar (1) Notwithstanding this Act, the Registrar may— (a) with the approval of the Commission, exempt a person or any class of persons holding a licence, approval, authorisation, recognition or registration under any enactment administered by the Commission; (b) exempt a person or a class of persons, other than a person or a class of persons referred to in paragraph (a), from any provision of this Act or modify the application of such provision. (2) An exemption or modification under subsection (1) may be made subject to such condition as the Registrar may determine. (3) The Registrar may, from time to time, issue Practice Directions setting out— (a) the form of notices required to be given to the Registrar under this Act; or (b) the procedure to be followed in registering documents or performing any act or thing required to be done under this Act. (4) Any Practice Direction issued under subsection (3) shall be published in the Gazette and shall remain in force unless amended or revoked by publication in the Gazette.
