23. Term of office of Councillor
Subject to this Act, the term of office of a Councillor shall begin on the
day on which he takes the oath under section 22 and, except for the Lord
Mayor, Deputy Lord Mayor, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chairperson or Vicechairperson, shall terminate on the day immediately preceding nomination
day at a general election for the election of Councillors.
