35. Cleanliness
(1) Every employer shall keep every place of work in a clean state and
free from effluvia arising from any drain or sanitary convenience or any other
nuisance.
(2) Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the employer
shall cause—
(a) accumulation of dirt, refuse or trade waste to be removed daily
from the floors and benches of workrooms and from the staircases and passages;
(b) the floor of every workroom to be cleaned at least once every
week; and
(c) all inside walls and partitions and all ceilings, and all walls, sides
and tops of passages and staircases to be kept clean, and unless
they have a smooth impervious surface, to be properly painted
or otherwise kept properly decorated.
