Section 9: The Board

9. The Board There shall be a Board which shall consist of— (a) a Chairperson, to be appointed by the Prime Minister; (b) 7 persons to be appointed by the Minister, out of whom— (i) 2 shall be executive heads of local public tertiary education institutions having developed partnerships with the Open University; (ii) 2 shall have substantial knowledge and experience of tertiary education and open and distance learning; (iii) one person shall be from the private sector and shall have substantial industrial experience; (iv) one person shall be from the public sector; (v) one person shall be from civil society and engaged in community service; (c) a person who shall be elected by and from the academic staff; (d) a person who shall be elected by and from the general staff; and (e) the Director-General.
