Section 3: Application of Act

3. Application of Act (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Act shall not apply to a person who— (a) is employed by another person for the purpose of protecting that other person or his property; and (b) is not employed by a private security service. (2) Sections 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 (1) and (2), 13 (2), (3) and (4), 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 (2), (3), (4) and (6) and 19 shall apply to a private security guard as defined in paragraph (b) of the definition of “security guard” in section 2, and to any certificate issued to him.
