Section 25: Closure of common lodging house

25. Closure of common lodging house (1) Where an order made by the Sanitary Authority under section 22 is not complied with within the period specified in the order, the Magistrate of [Issue 1] P49 – 12 Revised Laws of Mauritius the district in which the common lodging house is situate may, on the application of the Sanitary Authority, issue a warrant for the expulsion of all the inmates of the common lodging house. (2) The warrant may be executed by an officer of the Ministry deputed by the Sanitary Authority and any person refusing to leave the common lodging house shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 50 rupees.
