Section 61: Regulations

61. Regulations (1) The Minister may, on the recommendation of the Policy Office, make such regulations as he thinks fit for the purposes of this Act. (2) Regulations made under subsection (1) may provide for— (a) detailed procedures; (b) competent authorities; (c) operational thresholds; (d) an alternative procurement method where any of the procurement methods referred to in section 15 (1) is not considered appropriate for any specific procurement; (e) time limits and other deadlines; and (f) the levying of fees or charges by the Policy Office, the Board or the Review Panel; and (g) the amendment of the Schedule. (3) Regulations made under subsection (1) may provide that any person who contravenes them shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 10,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.
