123AE. Drivers not to use phone whilst driving
(1) No person shall, while driving a vehicle on a road or a public place,
use a hand-held microphone or telephone handset.
(2) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall commit an offence
and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 3,000 rupees.
(3) Subsection (1) shall not apply to a vehicle when it is being used for
police, fire or ambulance purposes.
