159. Duty to give information
(1) (a) Where a police officer has reason to suspect that an offence in
connection with a motor vehicle has been committed, he, or any other police
officer, may require the owner of the motor vehicle to give all information as
to the name, address, description and whereabouts of the driver and the occupants of the motor vehicle at the time of the alleged offence.
(b) Any person who fails to give the information required under
paragraph (a) shall commit an offence unless he shows to the satisfaction of
the Court that he did not have the information and could not, with reasonable diligence, have obtained it.
(2) (a) A police officer may require any other person to give any information which—
(i) it is in his power to give; and
(ii) may lead to the identification of the driver and other occupants
of the motor vehicle.
(b) Any person who fails to give the information required under
paragraph (a) shall commit an offence.

(3) Notwithstanding any other enactment, any information given under
this section by a person charged with an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle may be used as evidence at the hearing of the charge.
