Section 160: Making false statement

160. Making false statement (1) Any person who knowingly makes a false statement in order to— (a) obtain the grant or variation of a licence under this Act to himself or any other person; (b) prevent the grant or variation of the licence referred to in paragraph (a); or (c) procure the imposition of a condition or limitation in relation to a licence referred to in paragraph (a), shall commit an offence. (2) Any person who— (a) makes a false statement; or (b) withholds any material information, in order to obtain the issue of— (i) a certificate of insurance or certificate of security under Part V; or (ii) a prescribed document which may be produced in lieu of a certificate of insurance or a certificate of security under section 68 (4), shall commit an offence. (3) Any person who issues— (a) a document mentioned in subsection (2); (b) a test certificate; or (c) a certificate of fitness, which he knows is false in a material particular, shall commit an offence.
