Section 71: Regulations

71. Regulations (1) The Minister may make regulations prescribing anything which may be prescribed under this Part and generally for the purpose of carrying this Part into effect. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of the power under subsection (1), the Minister may provide for— (a) the forms to be used under this Part; (b) (i) the application for, and the issue of, certificates of insurance and any other documents which may be prescribed; and (ii) the keeping of records of documents and the furnishing of particulars thereof or the giving of information with respect to those records or documents to the Minister, the Commissioner of Police or the Commissioner; (c) the issue of copies of any certificates or other documents specified in paragraph (b) which are lost or destroyed; (d) the custody, production, cancellation and surrender of any such certificates or other documents; (e) any provision of this Part to have effect subject to such modifications and adaptations as may be prescribed in relation to a motor vehicle brought into Mauritius from abroad by a temporary visitor to Mauritius; and (f) (i) the payment and investment of, and dealing with, deposits under this Part; (ii) the deposit of stocks or other securities in lieu of money; (iii) the payment of the interests or dividends accruing or due on any securities in which deposits are being invested; and (iv) the withdrawal and transfer of deposits.
