20. Registration upon death of owner or purchase at public
auction
Where—
(a) the owner of a motor vehicle or trailer dies; or
(b) a motor vehicle or trailer has been purchased or acquired at a public auction,
the person who becomes the owner of the vehicle shall, within
15 days of becoming the owner, give notice of the fact to the
Commissioner and register the vehicle, upon payment, subject
to section 17 (3), of the appropriate fee specified in the Third
Schedule, on his name within that same time period.
