9. Issue of duplicate registration book
(1) The loss, theft or destruction of any registration book
shall be immediately reported to the Commissioner by the
owner of the motor vehicle or trailer in respect of which it has
been issued.
(2) Where it appears to the satisfaction of the Commissioner that a registration book issued to a person has been lost,
destroyed, worn out, or substantially defaced, the Commissioner may, on payment of the prescribed fee, issue a duplicate
of the book.
(3) Before a duplicate registration book is issued on account of being worn out or defaced, the old registration book
shall be returned to the Commissioner for cancellation.
(4) Where an original registration book has been secured
for the purposes of an inquiry, the Commissioner may issue,
free of charge, a duplicate registration book to the owner.
