Section 6: National Managing Committee

6. National Managing Committee (1) The National Managing Committee shall consist of 15 members elected in accordance with subsection (2) and of such number of representatives of affiliated associations as may be co-opted in accordance with section 7 (5) (b). (2) The members of the Committee shall be elected at the annual general meeting of the Association from among the active members whose names are borne on the current list of active members or representatives of affiliated associations. (3) (a) Candidates for election to the Committee shall be proposed and seconded by 2 other members of the Association, at least one of whom must be an active member. (b) Nominations shall be forwarded in writing to the Secretary at least 14 days before the annual general meeting. (4) At the first meeting after its election, the Committee shall appoint from among its members a Chairperson, a Treasurer, a Secretary and such other officers as it thinks necessary. (5) The functions of the Committee shall be honorary. (6) In the case of the death, absence, resignation or incapacity to act of any member, the Committee may co-opt an active member or affiliate representative to replace him.
