27. Reduction of compensation
(1) Notwithstanding section 26, and subject to sections 32 and 33,
where the Board is satisfied that any part of the loss in the sugar yield of a
planter or a métayer is attributable to causes other than cyclones, drought or
excessive rainfall, the Board may, in respect of the loss due to cyclones,
drought or excessive rainfall, pay compensation determined by reference to
the amount of insurable sugar calculated in accordance with the formula set
out in the Third Schedule.
