Section 11: Delegation of powers

11. Delegation of powers (1) The Board may delegate to the Director or any committee set up under section 9 such of its powers under this Act as may be necessary to assist in the effective management of the day to day business and activities of the Authority, other than the power to— (a) borrow money; (b) raise loans; (c) enter into any transaction in respect of capital expenditure which exceeds 200,000 rupees or such other sum as may be prescribed. (2) (a) Subject to paragraph (b), no document relating to any transaction referred to in subsection (1) (a) to (c), shall be executed or signed by or on behalf of the Authority unless it is signed by the Chairperson and the Director, or in the absence of the Chairperson, by any member appointed by the Board for that purpose. (b) In the absence of the Director, his powers under paragraph (a) shall be exercised by such employee as the Board may appoint for that purpose. T11 – 12 (1) [Issue 7] Tourism Authority Act
