31. Production of tourist enterprise licence
(1) Any person who runs or carries on a tourist enterprise from a place
other than fixed premises shall, at the request of an authorised officer, produce his tourist enterprise licence or a copy thereof to that officer.
(2) Subject to subsection (3), any person who contravenes subsection (1)
shall commit an offence and, shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine of not
less than 1,000 rupees and not exceeding 5,000 rupees and to imprisonment
for a term not exceeding 3 months.
(3) Where the licensee—
(a) fails to produce his tourist enterprise licence or a copy thereof; or
(b) produces a copy of his tourist enterprise licence,
following the request made under subsection (1), the authorised officer may
require him to produce his tourist enterprise licence within 5 days at the
office of the Authority or to such police station or National Coast Guard station as the authorised officer may specify.
(4) Where the licensee fails to comply with a requirement made under subsection (3), he shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a
fine of not less than 3,000 rupees and not exceeding 25,000 rupees and to
imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year.
