53. Failure to register pleasure craft
(1) Where the owner fails to report a transfer referred to in section 50 to
the Authority within the period specified in that section, or if the person
referred to in section 52, fails to notify the Authority of the fact of becoming
the owner within the period specified in that section, the owner or that person shall commit an offence.
(2) Where the new owner or the person referred to in section 52 fails to
register the pleasure craft within the period specified in section 50 or 52, as
the case may be, the new owner or that person shall be liable to a surcharge
of 50 per cent of the prescribed fee on registration.
