3. Offence
(1) Any person who contravenes, in Mauritius or elsewhere, any regulations made under this Act shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction,
be liable in the case of—
(a) an individual, to a fine not exceeding 1,000 rupees or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months; or
(b) a body corporate, to a fine not exceeding 5,000 rupees.
(2) Nothing in this Act shall be so construed or operate to take away or
restrict the liability of a person for an offence punishable independently of
this Act.
