90. Establishment and functions of National Remuneration Board
(1) The National Remuneration Board established under section 45 of the
repealed Industrial Relations Act shall be deemed to have been established
under this Act.
(2) The Board shall be reconstituted and shall consist of—
(a) a Chairperson;
(b) a Vice-chairperson;
(c) a representative of the Ministry responsible for the subject of
economic development;
(d) a representative of the Ministry responsible for the subject of
industry;
(e) 2 representatives of workers;
(f) 2 representatives of employers;
(g) 2 independent members.
(3) The Chairperson and the Vice-chairperson shall be public officers.
(4) The independent members shall be appointed by the Minister on such
terms and for such period as he may determine.
(5) The representatives of workers and employers shall be appointed by
the Minister for such period, after consultation with the most representative
organisations of workers and employers.
(6) Part III and, where appropriate, Part IV of the Second Schedule shall
apply to the Board and its members.
(7) The Board shall have such functions as are specified in this Act or as
may be prescribed.
(8) This Sub-part shall not apply to the public service.
