15. Registration of dealers (1) No person shall deal in jewellery, or precious or semi-precious stones, unless he is registered with the Director. J3 – 7 [Issue 7] Jewellery Act (2) (a) Any person intending to be registered as a dealer under subsection (1) shall make an application to the Director in such manner, and shall pay such fee, as may be prescribed. (b) The Director shall not consider any application unless the prescribed fee has been paid. (3) The Director may, where he is satisfied that the prescribed requirements have been complied with, register an applicant as a dealer for a period not exceeding 3 years, and on such other terms and conditions as he may determine. (4) The Director may, on an application in writing by a dealer, renew his registration on such terms and conditions as he may determine, and on payment of such fee as may be prescribed. (5) The Director shall on the registration of a person as a dealer or on the renewal of a registration, issue to the person or dealer, as the case may be, a registration certificate.
