28. Right of owner and mortgagee
(1) Subject to any right or power appearing from the Register to be
vested in any other person, the registered owner of a ship or a share in a
ship may dispose of it where the disposal is made in accordance with this
Act.
(2) Any interest arising under contract or by operation of law shall subsist in relation to a ship or a share in a ship and may be enforced by or
against the owner or mortgagee of a ship in respect of his interest in the ship
or share in it.
(3) The registered owner of a ship or of a share in a ship may give a valid
receipt for any money paid or advanced by way of consideration on any disposal of the ship or share.
